Depiction of Vata, Pitta and Kapha
According to Ayurveda:
Ayurveda means the “Wisdom of Life”. In terms of the Ayurveda, the three faces of beauty can be illustrated by detecting the Dosha. In terms of the Sanskrit, Dosha can be defined as “Doosyati iti Doshah”, which means which contaminates is considered as a Dosha. When we speak about Doshas, it constitutes three forms of biological energies that are classified as Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The ayurvedic principles revolve around this Tridosha System. These Tridosha forms are the rhythmic constituents of the five universal elements (Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Space).
Here, the correlation will be with the skin type and the responsible Dosha for the constitution of the skin type in a person. To determine the Prakriti (Natural Balance) or skin type, one should detect the predominant Dosha in a person. In terms of the ancient scriptures, the qualities of the absolute beauty poise, glow and vitality are alike in everyone; but their expression to the nature varies according to the fault in the Tridosha system.

Vata (Space and Air)
Vata is a vital energy form that regulates the prominent functions relative to the motion of a body like blood circulation, breathing and heart beat.
The skin type of the Vata predominant person will be generally normal to dry. The skin type will be thin and fine pored which is more exposed to premature ageing because of its tendency to get dehydrated. To balance this quality, the skin requires rehydration or moisture retention.
Depiction of Pitta:
Pitta (Fire and Water)
Pitta is intelligent form of energy that controls the functions of the metabolic systems like digestion, nutrition, and absorption and body temperature.
The skin type of Pitta predominant person will be generally sensitive, soft and warm. The skin feels the dehydration and often scorching; the heat of the Fire element. The skin is often prone to pigmentation and gets affected by the Tan easily.
Depiction of Kapha:
Kapha (Earth and Water)
Kapha is an energy which is expressed in the form of emotions (Love and forgiveness). It controls the body growth and maintains the water supply to all the body parts. Effectively it moisturises the skin and balances the immune system.
The skin type of Kapha predominant people will be generally oily with enlarged skin pores. One can feel the acne and skin outbreak on the surface of the skin.
